Local Private Scholarships

2017 Warren A. Morrow Memorial Scholarship

High school seniors and post-high school students are encouraged to apply for the Warren A. Morrow Memorial Scholarship.

Scholarship includes two categories:

High school scholarships (4):

first-place of $1,500;
second place of $1,000;
third place of $750 and
fourth place of $500.
Post-high school scholarship category includes two $1,000 scholarships.

Latinos Unidos Scholarship

Latinos Unidos of Iowa, Inc. is proud to grant scholarships for Latino/Latina students who will attend Iowa institutions of higher education. An important criteria in evaluating applications is the applicant’s participation in community service. Those applicants who live in the Des Moines area should actively participate in activities sponsored by Latinos Unidos of Iowa.

All scholarship recipients will be notified in mid-September, 2016.  Scholarship recipients are asked to attend the award ceremony held in Des Moines in late-September.

National Scholarships

Univision Scholarship Program

This scholarship opportunity is open to high school students, undergraduates, and graduate students (awards range from $500 to $5,000).Scholarship funds may be used for tuition, fees, books, and other academic related supplies, as well as for room/board and transportation expenses related to school.

The application for the 2017-2018 school year will open in January 2017.

Financial Institution Opportunities

Individual Development Accounts (IDA)

Interested program candidates must complete an application at a participating credit union prior to enrollment. Participants who successfully complete the program are eligible to receive a 1:1 savings match up to $2,000.
